My name is Deborah Lawrence and my organization, Marian University is participating in Indy Do Day for this project: MU Indy DO Day

This is what we hope to accomplish: 

September 30, 2016 Plan

3:30-5:30 p.m. Volunteers Work at Sites

• Indy Cycloplex (honeysuckle removal, planting)—40-60 people, need to wear long pants and closed shoes (ICX Staff) CONFIRMED
• Nina Mason Pulliam Ecolab (installing drainage pipes)—25 people, need to wear long pants and closed shoes (Stephanie Schuck) CONFIRMED
• St. Michael’s Parish/School (general cleanup and maintenance)—10-15 people
• Alumni Hall (sending thank you notes, messages to SSF @Oldenburg, alumni, etc.)—20 people + Presidential Ambassadors (Sr. Jean Marie Cleveland and Katie Smith)–CONFIRMED
• Tear Down the Walls—TBD (Jeanne Hidalgo) CONFIRMED
• IPS School #42—TBD CONFIRMED
• Riverside School #44 (garden cleanup and prep)—10 people
• Neighborhood Cleanup and Beautification—(campus houses)—5-10 people (Karen McNulty and Heather Bisher)–CONFIRMED
• Riverdale Garden (raking and trimming)—10 people (J.D. and Lois Lawrence) CONFIRMED
• Tea House (trimming and weeding)—5-10 people (John Shelton) CONFIRMED
• Campus Fall Cleanup—15-20 people (Mike Miller and Campus Ops) CONFIRMED
• Marian Hall Chapel (general cleanup)—2-3 people (Theresa Roberts) CONFIRMED
• Food Drive for the MU Sharing Closet (Student Life staff)–CONFIRMED
• Clothing Drive for the MU Sharing Closet (Student Life staff—CONFIRMED

STARR Projects (Jeanne Hidalgo):
• Holy Family Shelter– sorting clothing, working in the nursery, yard work
• Noble of Indiana– interacting with adults who are mentally challenged
• Miracle Place– interacting with kids after school
• Unleavened Bread Café– interior improvements at the café
• Heritage Place– visiting with elderly in their homes, or yard work at their homes

We will be working on: Friday, September 30. There will be 200 volunteers and around 500 total hours worked. We are also providing the following skills to help with our project: Clerical, Construction, Cleaning, Food Preparation, Landscaping, Painting, Tutoring, Elderly Assistance, Artistic Help, Remove Debris, Food Distribution, Learning/Education
