2017 – What Is Everyone Doing for Indy Do Day?

Project Name: St. Richard’s in the Neighborhood

Our Accomplishments!

My name is John Brady and my organization, St. Richard’s Episcopal School participated in Indy Do Day for this project: St. Richard’s in the Neighborhood


We worked on:

St. Richard’s Indy Do Day: Friday Sept. 29

Early Childhood students (age 3-6) will participate in projects in and around St. Richard’s.

Lower Division students (grades 1-4) will participate in projects immediately surrounding St. Richard’s including Mid-North Food Pantry, Project Home Indy and St. Nicholas Day Care as well as Trinity Church. Students will focus on trash removal and general beautification.

Middle Division students (grades 5-8) will participate in a variety of service projects.

– All participants will meet at the pocket park off 33rd and Delaware for a kick off. Brief history of neighborhood and overview of work so students can develop sense of place.

Work to be completed by location:
1. Pocket park at 33rd & Delaware St: General beautification: weeding and trash removal.

2. Al Polin Park Indy Park at 29 & Talbott: General beautification: weeding and trash removal.

3. Silver Fall Park, at Delaware and Fall Creek Parkway: General beautification: weeding and trash removal.

4. Fall Creek Gardens: General beautification: weeding and trash removal.

5. Rain Garden in the Double 8 parking lot at 555 Fairfield: General beautification: weeding and trash removal.

6. Dove Recovery Center at 34th and Meridian: General beautification: weeding and trash removal.

Weed pulling

. There were 450 volunteers and around 568 total hours worked. We also provided the following skills to help with our project: Cleaning, Landscaping, Remove Debris, Learning/Education
