2017 – What Is Everyone Doing for Indy Do Day?

Project Name: Maintenance Projects for Senior Homeowners

Our Accomplishments!

My name is Hallie Robbins and my organization, Concord Neighborhood Center participated in Indy Do Day for this project: Maintenance Projects for Senior Homeowners

We worked on:

Concord leverages the interest and enthusiasm surrounding Indy Do Day to provide outreach projects for the community. Volunteers provide specific, maintenance assistance for the agency’s clients who are senior homeowners. Volunteers are assigned to a small group (5-8 people) who then travel to a senior homesite to complete projects. Examples of past projects include: yard work, washing windows, painting doors and trim, cleaning sidewalks and walkways and general beautification projects. It is often the case that our senior homeowners are able to live independently, but they are not able to keep up with the day-to-day chores required to maintain a home. Our projects are a major boost for seniors’ health and safety, quality of life, and pride in their homes.

. There were 50 volunteers and around 150 total hours worked. We also provided the following skills to help with our project:
