Project Name: IndyBar Service Day

Our Accomplishments!

My name is Scott Oliver and my organization, Indianapolis Bar Association participated in Indy Do Day for this project: IndyBar Service Day

We worked on:

The Indianapolis Bar Association has a group of approximately 80 volunteers who will be working at 3 locations in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our volunteers will be located at The Boy Scout of America (Camp Belzer), White River State Park, and Gleaners Food Bank. The projects will include general beautification of White River State Park, sorting donations at Gleaners Food Bank, and resurfacing a driveway at Camp Belzer for the Boy Scouts of America.

Volunteer with the Boy Scouts at Camp Belzer.

*”Be prepared” is the Boy Scout’s motto and we’re helping them stick to it! Our group will meet up and prepare Camp Belzer’s grounds for a Cub Scout retreat. We’ll be attending to the great outdoors. Landscaping, driveway resurfacing, and general up-keeping are on the docket for this volunteer opportunity. Make sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

*Volunteer at White River State Park
White River State Park has consistently been named one of the best urban parks in the nation! Let’s keep that Indy reputation pristine. Take a break from your office and enjoy the great outdoors! Our group will be cleaning up the park and keeping our city beautiful. Make sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

*Volunteer at Gleaners Food Bank
Can’t stand the heat? Get into the kitchen! Well, Gleaners. Our group will be assisting Gleaners Food Bank with their day-to-day activities. Since they give away 2 million pounds of food every month, we will be helping sorting and inspecting donations. Make sure to wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

. There were 80 volunteers and around 4 total hours worked. We also provided the following skills to help with our project: Construction, Help w/People, Cleaning, Landscaping, Other, Remove Debris, Food Distribution
